Each valve is identified by a unique serial number and all shell and trim materials are traceable to the original material certificate. A reference list of the certificates of the materials used is provided for each valve.

Design Features

Valves comply with the requirements of Euro-Chlor Gest 89/140 9th Edition 2002 and Chlorine Institute Pamphlet 6 Edition 14.

Valves generally comply with ASME B16.34, API 600 and BS 1873.

The bellows are a minimum of 3-ply construction hydro-formed from tubes of the specified material. The bellows are designed for a minimum life of 10,000 cycles at maximum conditions and independently type tested to the requirement of BS5352 Annex C to confirm the design life.

All internal valve lubricants are chlorine compatible.

Production Tests

  1. Hydraulic pressure test of body, bonnet and bellows at 1.5 x ps.
Acceptance criteria - no visible leakage after two minutes.
  2. Pneumatic pressure test of assembled valve using nitrogen (oxygen free) - body and seat 1.1 x ps.
Acceptance criteria - no visible leakage after two minutes
  3. Helium leak test of bellows unit at 1 atms using mass spectrometer.
Acceptance criteria - maximum allowable leakage rate 10-9 cm3/s.
